Άννα Παπά

Prof. Anna Papa, MD, Ph.D. is the Head of the Department of Microbiology in the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She leads the National Reference Laboratories for Arboviruses and Hemorrhagic Fever viruses and for Influenza -COVID-19 for Northern Greece.

She is President of the International Society on Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever and President of the Hellenic Society of Virology.

She is member of the Executive Board of European Society of Virology, the Executive Board of European Society of Clinical Virology and member of the Management Team of EVD-LabNet (European expert laboratory network for emerging viral diseases).

She was/is coordinator of several national projects, and partner in EU projects (FP6, FP7 and HORIZON 2020).

She was invited speaker in many national and international congresses, while in 2018 she received the “Gardner Lectureship Award” from the European Society for Clinical Virology.

She has published 290 scientific articles included in PubMed, most of them on emerging infectious diseases, with h-index 42 and 7179 citations.
